I got my savage at the end of 99 . It was clean and dry . No oil in the engine . If your new 97 was never run , and you can get out the door for $3600 take it . Watch out for hiden causts , like dealer prep. My salesman did not know where the oil filter was. 0 miles is new and I would trade my 99 for a 97 with 0 miles . Not that I don't love my savage . I ride every day . No snow in Florida , so we ride a lot .
